Fuel prices in South Africa are adjusted monthly by the DMRE, typically effective from the first Wednesday of the month. The pump price bundles the basic fuel price, levies and margins — including the General Fuel Levy and RAF levy.
Inland vs coastal
Inland prices are usually higher because of transport costs to move fuel inland from coastal supply points.

Distance × (L/100km) ÷ 100 × price, plus tolls, times two if round trip. Popular routes like Johannesburg–Cape Town are preloaded as starting points.
