When are fuel prices updated in South Africa?
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) adjusts fuel prices on the first Wednesday of each month, based on international oil prices and the rand-dollar exchange rate.
What is the difference between inland and coastal prices?
Inland prices (Gauteng, Limpopo, Free State, etc.) are slightly higher than coastal prices because of transport levies to move fuel from coastal refineries inland
Does the pump price include all levies and taxes?
Yes. The retail pump price includes the basic fuel price, General Fuel Levy, Road Accident Fund (RAF) levy, and other regulated margins.
